The Time is Now!
Today we are facing some of the most aggressive attacks on environmental protections in 50 years. The current government administration is only part of the problem. Although there are thousands of people across the U.S. and the world trying to raise their voices and be heard, we still need more of you to help protect our air, water, and earth.

Kill the Drill on Padre Island
Ridley's Kemp Sea Turtle
© Dwight J. Sokoll Currently, BNP Petroleum is planning to drill for natural gas on Padre Island in south Texas. Not only is Padre Island a national seashore and visited by 800,000 Americans each year, but it is also the nesting ground for the most endangered sea turtle in the world, the Kemp's Ridley. The last two drilling attempts within the last 20 years, have come up dry. In addition, the last time BNP tried to drill on Padre Island for natural gas, they left radioactive equipment on the island, eventually burying in the area. National Seashores fall under federal jurisdiction, and are considered to be protected public land. Don't let legal loopholes allow the U.S. government to open up Padre Island to fossil fuel interests.   Kill the Drill on Padre Island
